A screen timer you cannot ignore: when your time is up, a cloth rolls down over the monitor.
Problem
Screens take up most of our day, and breaks get harder to take when the computer is also where you relax. The advice is a ten-minute break every hour, but timers and alarms are easy to dismiss.
Concept
The Physical Screen Timer covers your screen with a cloth when your time runs out. An eye tracker checks whether you are looking at the screen, and once the screen is covered, whether you are still sitting at the desk.
I built a working physical prototype and filmed it in use.
