Let’s Go homepage with a search bar over a tropical coast

A travel site for backpackers who book their next stay on the road, with a map to find hotels in the areas they want to explore.

Scenario

Steve and Celine travel through Thailand for a month after graduating. They booked the first week and want to find the rest on the way, close to the places they want to see. Most apps treat finding a hotel and planning what to see as separate tasks.

Research

I mapped their journey before, during and after the trip and studied how services like Booking.com handle searching on a map and comparing places. The best patterns became wireflows for the two main functions.

Prototype

The interactive prototype opens with a search bar and trending destinations. The map view lets you zoom from a country into a region and see the hotels in it.
