Direction
I picked the song because I grew up with it. Research into its images and the 1970s disco and rock and roll it comes from set the direction: warm colours, rounded retro type and a lot of energy.
Type & colour
The calm opening uses a rounded typeface. The rough second half switches to Shaker Rocker, a sharper face with a shadow behind it so it stays readable. Four main colours come from the disco era.
Animation
Tina and Ike each get their own colour, and accent words get their own type. With every bass kick, cracks spread further across the top screen.
